Club Tijuana head coach prepares for UNAM: LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Clausura Week 5

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente continues with its preparations for its Week 5 match of the LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Clausura in which it visits Pumas UNAM in Mexico City Sunday Feb. 2.


The Xoloitzcuintles trained Thursday Jan. 30 on the grass field next to Estadio Caliente looking towards the match at Estadio Olimpico Universitario. Head coach Cesar Farias spoke about the upcoming match in a news conference after the practice session.


“It’s always a difficult pitch (to play on),” said the Venezuelan-born Farias. “It is an important rival but we are doing well and are conscious of what we are working to get a win on the road. It is part of our objectives.”


Farias also talked about the first third of the Xoloitzcuintles’ season in which the team was able to win two matches, loose one and tie another.


“The team is connecting better each time,” Farias said. We have performed well in all our games. We create frequent opportunities at goal. We see that in practice and in the games. The team’s motivation is impeccable and we are looking to keep on marching on.”


The Xoloitzcuintles will train Friday morning in Tijuana then will travel to Mexico City to continue preparations for the fifth match of the LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Clausura.
