GOING FOR THE WIN

Club Tijuana Under-17 team visits Pumas UNAM in Week 5 match up

TIJUANA- Coach Ignacio Ruvalcava takes his Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente Under 17 squad to Mexico City this weekend for a match against fifth place Pumas UNAM’s  Under 17 team in a Week 5 match of LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Clausura youth national tournament

The Xoloitzcuintles (0-1-3) travel to face a Pumas (2-0-2) team that leads the league in goals scored with eight, but has struggled to find form at home. Both of UNAM’s wins have been on the road, scoring only two goals at home.

Club Tijuana will try to get its first win of the young tournament as it has begun to develop chemistry, trying to find the back of the net. The attacking third has produced one goal in four matches. A tenacious backline and possessive midfield has proved to be the team’s strong point in the last few matches, helping the squad earn points in the standings with three draws this season.

The Uunder-17 team kicks off at 7 a.m. (Pacific) Sunday Feb. 2 in Mexico City.
