CLUB TIJUANA PRESENTS UNIVERSITY PROGRAM

Team invites students to enroll in Xoloitzcuintles Sports Psychology program

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente presented a university curriculum focusing on sports psychology applied in soccer Friday Feb. 1 at the Universitad Autonoma de Baja California Valle de las Palmas campus.

Club Tijuana Sports Psychology coordinator and Mental coach Marco Vera led the presentation at the Cisalud Building at the university. Students studying in this major were invited to be part of the curriculum and practice in this field as they develop a path into a career in sports psychology.

Part of Club Tijuana’s objectives is to create soccer players from an early age and thanks to that vision, this program has helped form the soccer player and other professionals that apply this sports science in Baja California.

The Xoloitzcuintles are developing this program with sports psychology in the club’s reserves system which has served as an incentive to kids in the Centro de Iniciacion Xoloitzcuintles to help them reach the next step of their careers. This science is applied with the youngest athlete (4-years-old).

Vera pointed out the importance of teaching soccer along with integral education that can increase the child’s level of play and personality as a soccer player.

“Part of our homework in this program is to favor the development of the player’s sports psyche through group techniques and applied theory,” Vera said. “The end result being to give young soccer players variable potential in integration, communication, motivation and self esteem related to things related to soccer.”
