Club Tijuana is part of 2013 Red Cross Collection



TIJUANA- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente was part of the Red Cross of Tijuana’s gala that commemorated the 2013 Collection campaign Thursday March 6 at the Grand Hotel Tijuana.


 For the second consecutive year, Club Tijuana promoted its partnership with the Red Cross under the campaign “Collection Champions” in which more than 350 thousand kids from the Baja California state educational system will participate. The objective is to raise 5 million pesos during the 2014 collection.


The schools with the most participation will have some incentives, including Club Tijuana stickers, hats, official shirts and visits to training. All these are part of the donations to the campaign.


Club Tijuana Marketing Director, Esteban de Anda, spoke during Thursday’s event about the commitment the Xoloitzcuintles have to support the Red Cross.  


“This is the second year that we are with the Red Cross and we want to continue our commitment with you,” De Anda said. “We will continue to support our institution’s image with the same platform this year. Multiple schools will have the chance to collaborate and assist with the different strategies and visits to the stadium or receive different prices.”


Tijuana Mayor Jorge Astiazaran donated a new ambulance along with 1 million 500 pesos for the cause. There are 212 people that make up the Red Cross of Tijuana and 500 volunteers made up of people from different companies, institutions and organizations.  



During the 2013 collection, the Red Cross helped in 37,072 emergencies in which it used 15 ambulances, six rescue units, a motorcycle and six supervisor units. The different programs offered by the Red Cross helped 35,136 people and another 11,286 were aided by Emergency Technicians and registered nurse students.
