Club Tijuana hosts CD Toluca in Week 14 match

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente faces Club Deportivo Toluca in a Week 14 match of the LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Clausura at Estadio Caliente Friday April 4 (7: 30 p.m. Pacific).

The team coached by Cesar Farias closed out preparations Thursday April 3 with a practice at Estadio Caliente where it polished the final details heading into its match against Toluca.

Edgar Castillo spoke about the upcoming game after Thursday’s practice during a news conference.

“We know we have a good opportunity to reach some important things and we hope to win the three points against Toluca,” Castillo said. “We want to be in the playoffs and we want to keep moving up the standings.”

Castillo talked about the memorable match against CD Toluca in the 2012 Apertura tournament final in which Club Tijuana won the title after beating “Los Diablos Rojos” 4-1 in the aggregate score.

“It’s a great memory and a very important moment in Xoloitzcuintles history but now we will play a new game and each game is different,” Castillo said. “We know that they also want to win and it will surely be a great game.”

MEETINGS BETWEEN CLUB TIJUANA AND CD TOLUCA

Club Tijuana and Club Deportivo Toluca have faced each other seven times, including the LIGA MX-2012 Apertura final. Club Tijuana is 3-1-3 in the series.
