CONCACAF Champions League Semifinals; second leg

MEXICO CITY- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente allowed goals in each half in a 2-0 loss to host Cruz Azul FC in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals at Estadio Azul Wednesday night.


Cruz Azul took the lead in the second minute when a Cruz Azul pass bounced off Club Tijuana’s Javier Guemez and ricocheted into his own goal. Cruz Azul tied the aggregate score 1-1 in the home-and-home series with that goal. The home team then took the lead in the 50th minute when Julio Dominguez sent in a corner kick to the right-lower corner of the Xoloitzcuintles net. Cruz Azul advances to the international tournament final with a 2-1 aggregate score. 


Club Tijuana insisted, pressuring in the last quarter of the match with several attempts at goal.


The Xoloitzcuintles now return to LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 action Saturday April 12 when it visits UANL Tigres in a Week 15 match.
