CD TOLUCA 3-1 CLUB TIJUANA (FINAL)

TOLUCA, Mexico- Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente played to a 3-1 loss to host CD Toluca in the second leg match of the LIGA Bancomer MX-2014 Clausura quarterfinals Sunday at Estadio Nemesio Diez.

Toluca moves on the semifinals after winning the home-and-home series with a 3-1 aggregate score. The Xoloitzcuintles, who finished with 10 men, are eliminated from its third playoff appearance.

Antonio Rios, Miguel Ponce and Edgar Benitez scored for Toluca while Dario Benedetto sent one in for Club Tijuana.

Toluca took a 1-0 lead in the 31^st minute. The Xoloitzcuintles tied the match 1-1 in the 49^th minute. The tie would have sent Club Tijuana into the semifinals with a 1-0 lead in the away goal tiebreaker. But it was Toluca who added two more scores. Ponce sent his goal in the 60^th minute while Edgar Benitez sealed the win for the home team in the 89^th minute.
