“I AM VERY HAPPY.” –JUAN CARLOS NUÑEZ

Club Tijuana prepares for Queretaro, Nuñez talks about matchup

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente trained Wednesday morning Oct. 8 at Estadio Caliente under coach Daniel Guzman as the team prepares for its Week 13 match of the LIGA Bancomer MX 2014 Apertura against Queretaro FC.

The Xoloitzcuintles went through a series of intense work under its coaching staff with control exercises and take off to optimize coordination and speed and finished practice with intersquad scrimmages.

Club Tijuana defender Juan Carlos Nuñez spoke with members of the media following the practice. He talked about how important the next game is and the three points that are at stake against Gallos Blancos.

“The team has always worked with the same intensity and has shown that in each game,” Nuñez said. “We are prepared to face the next match against Gallos and ge the best result. We have five games left and they are very important but the most important one right now is against Queretaro. These three points are vital to us so that we can stay in the fight and the team is working with that mentality.”

Nuñez interview with the media had a special tone as the defender talked about a milestone: his 200th match with Club Tijuana last Saturday Oct. 4 against Rayados de Monterrey. He talked about the importance of reaching that mark and what his career has been like as a professional footballer with Club Tijuana.

“It is very important, I am very happy to have reached that number of games with this institution which has given me the opportunity,” Nuñez said. “I am very grateful with them and I am happy to be here. I give it all in all my games to be a model for younger players. I want them to realize that everyday hard work can get them somewhere and to give it their all because they are the future and they can also reach the same kind of milestone like me.”
