JOSE AYOVI JOINS XOLOITZCUINTLES

Ecuadorian striker is acquired by Club Tijuana for 2015 Clausura

TIJUANA –Club Tijuana continues to add to its attack for the 2015 Clausura. The Xoloitzcuintles have signed Ecuadorian striker Jose Ayovi, a fast and accurate shooter. He is known as “Tren” or “Train” because defenders have a hard time stopping him when on the attack.

His speed, agility and awareness for the goal are some of the things that drew Club Tijuana’s attention. With those abilities, he became one of the most dangerous players in Ecuadorian soccer. Ayovi scored eight goals with Independiente Jose Teran of Ecuador. He helped his teammate Narciso Mina become the leading goal scorer with 28 goals in 2011.

Ayovi went on to play for Barcelona de Guayaquil in 2012 where he won the league title. He played in more than 50 games, scoring five goals.

The young striker began his career with Club Sport North America and later went on to play for Municipal del Canar. Xoloitzcuintles scouts noticed his abilities and realized they would fit in Mexican soccer. He came to Mexico to play for Dorados de Sinaloa in the Liga de Ascenso. He scored eight goals in nine games during the 2014 Apertura, playing 755 minutes. He also saw time on the pitch in Copa MX games.

Club Tijuana welcomes Jose and wishes him the best.
