Xoloitzcuintles U-15 qualifies to the Round of 16

Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente’s Under-15 squad defeated the Third Division All-Stars 1-0 with a Raymundo Mejia goal in the Liga MX national youth winter tournament.

With the win the Idelfonso “Pichus” Mendoza led Xoloitzcuintles has secured their ticket into the Round of 16 of the tournament. Club Tijuana are currently in first place of group 5 after two games with six points followed by Club Santos with four points, Veracruz with one, and Third Division All-Stars with no points. 

The Xoloitzcuintles took the lead in the game off of a Mejia header into the left corner of the goal after an Omar Rosales pass in the 18th minute.

Late in the match Club Tijuana looked to double their lead but the Third Division goalkeeper was well aware to keep the ball out of the net denying the Xoloitzcuintles a second.
