Dario Benedetto: "We want to finish this tournament on a positive note"

Argentine striker believes his team will take advantage of being alive playoff race.

GUADALAJARA, JALISCO - Dario Ismael Benedetto is no stranger to scoring goals against Atlas, he made his Club Tijuana debut scoring a "Hat-Trick" against Atlas. This Saturday he'll be looking to add to his scoring talley in Week 16 of the 2014 Apertura season.  


The team realizes the dire situation that they are in, but the hope of reaching the playoffs is still intact. 


"We want to finish the season on a positive note" said Benedetto "the hope of qualifying to the playoffs is still intact. We know we let go of three important points at home, hopefully we can win these last two games to keep those hopes alive." 


The Argentine striker has played 1,119 minutes so far this season in 15 matches, he is currently the team's leading goal scorer with seven goals which makes him the tournament's 5th best scorer. The match against Atlas will be a special for him and his teammates as they will face former teammate Edgar Castillo. 


"Inside of the field there are no friendships" explained 'Pipa' Benedetto "We need those three points and it doesn't matter who is on the other side of the field, inside,of the pitch we forget everything." 


Benedetto is well known for his charisma, the love the Xoloitzcuintle fans have shown the striker makes him feel indebted to them; for which he will and his 10 teammates will give it their all on Saturday evening looking for the three points that could get them closer to the liguilla ticket. 


"We always appreciate the support they give us" mentioned Benedetto "They are always there cheering us on, and hopefully we can give them a playoff ticket."
